Samuel Arnold, 1897

Samuel Arnold followed his father Robert Arnold into politics, eventually becoming Reeve of Vaughan Township. He also held the titles of Commissioner for the Industrial Home Committee of York County, and Councillor and Deputy-Reeve. In 1872, he built a red brick house on Yonge Street that was moved to 21 Spring Gate Boulevard and today houses the Arnold Centre for the Arts.
