Frederick Page was born in England and farmed in Maple, before enlisting in 1917. He served as a member of a cavalry unit overseas during the First World War. Nine months later, his relative, Stewart Page, followed in his footsteps and enlisted.
The Page family traces its lineage in Vaughan to 1838 when 200 acres on Lot 9, Concession 2 (near present day Bathurst Street and Highway 7) were deeded to Lewis Page, land that the Crown acquired through the disputed Toronto Purchase (Treaty 13).
