John Elliot
John Elliot (1820-1905) was born in England and emigrated to Canada, settling first near Port Hope and later Woodbridge, where he opened a blacksmith shop north of today’s Centre Street on Woodbridge Avenue. He married Anne Reeves (1831-1906), and they had 7 children: Levi, Deborah, Agnes, Elizabeth, Jennie, Maria, and Stephen.
