Nathaniel Wallace
Nathaniel Wallace was born in Ireland in 1810 and emigrated to Canada in 1834. He served in the British infantry during the uprising of William Lyon Mackenzie of 1837, attaining the rank of Captain. In 1837, he married Ann Wallace, also originally from Ireland, and they had five sons and two daughters. He opened the Inkerman House (Hotel) in Woodbridge and was also one of the first tax assessors of Vaughan Township at the first Council meeting in 1850. He passed away in 1885.
