Andrew McClure
Andrew McClure was born in Ireland in 1813. In 1833, he immigrated to Canada, joining his uncle John Waugh in Etobicoke before purchasing land on Lots 14 and 15, Concession 8 near Elder’s Mills (running from present day Highway 27 to Kipling Avenue, on the south side of Rutherford Road). Andrew was a carpenter and married Mary Ann Hamilton and they had at least four sons, with their youngest child, William inheriting the property. Andrew passed away in 1878 when he was 65.
