The Edgeley Women’s Institute was organized on January 23, 1913, at the home of Mrs. J.W. Dalziel. It was presided over by the West York District President, Mrs. W.O. Duncan and the West York District Secretary, Mrs. Lambie, and included a signing of a maple leaf, before closing the event out by singing “God Save The King”. Subsequent meetings were held every second Wednesday at 2:30 pm.
