The RCAF was split into multiple commands, including Bomber Command, of which Ed Price was a member, and Fighter Command. While Bomber Command played a primarily offensive role, the duties of Fighter Command were more defensive. Fighter Command intercepted enemy invaders using a network of radar stations, observers and ground traffic controllers. This network allowed members of the RCAF to detect incoming attacks and direct their fighters to intercept them.
