Garnet A. Williams
Garnet A. Williams was the Town of Vaughan’s first Mayor, and the namesake of the G.A. Williams Community Centre, located in Thornhill. Williams served in Vaughan Township Council in various positions from 1963-1970 and the Town’s first Mayor from 1971, until his death in 1981.
