Vaughan Civic Centre Maple, 1957
Following the amalgamation of the Village of Woodbridge and Township of Vaughan in 1971, the municipal offices of both areas were also consolidated into one location in Maple. Council meetings and municipal affairs took place in an office located at the northeast corner of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street. In 1957, a new Civic Hall was built at 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive and used until it was replaced by Vaughan’s current City Hall in 2011.
