Concord Public School, 1924
School Section No. 7
School Section No. 7, also known as Mudville School and Concord School, was located at the east end of Lot 6, Concession 3. Though it was considered the first School Section No. 7, it was actually the fifth or sixth in the area, most of the others being held in homes or shops. It was a brick building, constructed in 1866. This building was used until 1900, when it was torn down as it was considered unsafe. The above photograph depicts a class outside the second building in 1924. In 1931, fire destroyed the building, leading to its replacement. This structure was gradually enlarged over time, with new classrooms and a gymnasium being added.
