Saint Paul's Presbyterian Church, ca. 1890
In 1837, the congregation of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church came into being, under the supervision of Revered Peter McNaughton. Following the initial meeting, services were held at Maple on two successive Sundays, with services being held at the two other member parishes on an alternating basis, on the third Sunday. In 1844, a decision was made to build a church on Concession 7. It was a frame structure, that lasted until 1889, when it was replaced by a brick structure. The image above depicts the congregation around 1890, outside the new brick building.
