Cober Dunkard Church, ca. 1940s
The Cober Dunkard Church was located on Dufferin Street, north of Highway 7. It was a small frame building, originally surrounded by trees and built in 1888, as pictured above (image ca.1940s). Despite the physical church being established in 1880s, the cemetery grounds had been used for burials for decades before. The cemetery is the final resting spot for some of the Township’s earliest settlers, including Nicholas Cober and his wife Eve Fisher. Other individuals that are buried here include members of the Reaman, Baker, Schell, and Winger families.
