Woodbridge Presbyterian, ca. 1910
Prior to 1874, the members of this congregation attended either Knox Presbyterian Church or St. Paul’s Church. After 1874, services were held regularly in Woodbridge, with the first meetings held at the home of David Todd. In 1875, part of Lot 3 on Eighth Avenue was purchased from Dr. Donald Grant, with a church building being constructed in 1877. However, in 1925, with the union of the churches, membership was cut nearly in half. Yet despite this reduction in membership, the church continued to grow, albeit at a slower pace. The above image depicts the church in ca. 1910.
