Map of Germany

When I think of Remembrance Day, I think of my Grandmother or “Babcia”. She was a female Polish soldier who was stationed in Germany during the Second World War as part of the Polish Underground. This well used map of Germany was given to my Father from his Mom when he began learning about the Wars in School. She told him that she used this map often while navigating the country and working for the Allies. My Babcia didn’t talk very often about the war, but I am proud to know that she fought to help bring freedom to the world. Although many women served during WWII, their stories are not as often told and I hope that this exhibit will help bring more of these stories forward. Thank you.
