Proudly She Marched – Volume I
Collected by the University Women’s Club of Vaughan, “Proudly She Marched, Volume 1” details the history of Canadian women's army training camps in Waterloo County. Building on the expanded role of women in the workforce during World War I, women began to serve in military uniform at home and abroad during World War II. Following their recruit and enlistment in the army, women from all across Canada, including York County and Vaughan, travelled to Waterloo to begin their basic training.
