Jan., 2014: Norberta O'Rourke Fonds, Pine Grove Post Office and General Store with Fred Hicks

A life-long resident of Vaughan and former editor of the Woodbridge and Vaughan News, Norberta O’Rourke (1917-2002) was a local historian specializing in the history of Pine Grove and Woodbridge. In 1983, she published Chatting About the ‘Post Offices’ of Vaughan Township, Ontario, a compilation on the history of Vaughan’s 25 post offices. Her collection of records consists of over 600 photographs of historic Vaughan as well as maps, scrapbooks, artifacts, artwork, genealogical material, and newspaper clippings.
