Nov., 2017: Memorial Tower and Gun, [n.d.]

The Woodbridge War Memorial Tower was constructed in 1924 in honour of the twenty-six men from the community who lost their lives for King and Country during the Great War (1914-1918). Built by volunteers within the Woodbridge community, the memorial tower used locally sourced fieldstone in its design as well as cut stone that was salvaged from the old Humber Bridge, which was demolished as a result of the Hwy 7 road widening. Located on the hilltop on the west side of Wallace Street (80 Wallace Street), the Memorial Tower and accompanying cenotaph continue to serve as the location for Vaughan’s annual Remembrance Day Service.
