Received in 2015, the Robert J. Patton fonds consists of unique genealogical material relating to the McClure and Bryson families of Vaughan Township. Eventually linked through marriage, these two families lived in Purpleville and Elder’s Mills respectfully and took part in various industries throughout the Township. Consisting of only 0.5 cm of textual information, and one black and white photograph, the fonds is of particular interest for its valuable handwritten account of the Bryson’s and their genealogy. Detailing the family’s immigration from Scotland, as well as information regarding members of the Mitchel, McLean, McClure and Kennedy families, who also married into the family over the years.
