Jan., 2015: Kerr Family fonds

The Kerr Family fonds consists of records collected by Robert and Elizabeth Kerr upon their arrival in Vaughan ca. 1847. A teacher by trade, Robert was placed at both Pine Grove School (S.S. No. 12) and Vellore School (S.S. No. 9), and the Kerr’s eventually purchased a parcel of land on Lot 23, Concession 7 (present day Kleinburg area), where they raised their seven children. The Kerr Family fonds consists primarily of photographs contained within four decorative photo albums, collected over a span of seventy years by the family unit. The photos depict various generations of the Kerr Family, as well as members of the family acquired through marriage, including various members of the Wilson, Kinnee, Seed, Watson and Robson families.
