In 1892 he established a private bank, which he operated out of his home on Pine Street (formerly the Commercial Hotel). In 1905, the small business was amalgamated with the Northern Crown Bank and was eventually absorbed by the Royal Bank of Canada in 1917-1918. The photograph above depicts The Bank of Nova Scotia branch that was open from 1917-1933.
