Judith Thompson, Barber Shop
Pen and ink sketch of a Barber shop by Judith Thompson from 1973. The building later became Maple’s first library. Judith Thompson, was the daughter of Vaughan residents, Ilse and Roy Thompson. Like her mother, Judith wrote for the Vaughan Weekly News, in addition to submitting pen-and-ink drawings of scenes in Maple to the paper. She later became a professor of 18th century literature at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
