McDougall Family
Born in Scotland, Mary Loynachan married William McDougall at an early age. In 1836, William came to Canada, and Mary followed in 1838. The couple started working for the Pease and Davis families on Yonge Street, Toronto. Shortly after, they rented the Mulholland farm on the fifth concession of Vaughan Township and William worked as a blacksmith. Upon the death of her husband in 1889, Mary McDougall moved to Edgeley with her five unmarried children and resided there until her death in 1913.
