Wallace Family
George Frazier Wallace purchased Lot 10, Concession 8 (near present day Huntington Road and Centre Street), near Woodbridge, in 1842 from his brother-in-law. George married Catherine Weir and the pair had six children. Pictured above are descendants of the Wallace Family, Woodbridge postmaster Robert Tucker Wallace and his wife, Hannah Soden, ca. 1870’s. The farm then passed through the family, eventually reaching the hands of Eleanor Wallace and her husband, Raymond Maltby. Eleanor and Raymond sold the property in 1967 to speculators, marking 133 years that the farm had been in the family’s hands.
