Rutherford Family
The Rutherford family settled on Lot 15, Concession 6 (southwest corner of Rutherford and Weston road). The family conducted a barn raising bee in 1929, and the barn remained on the property until it caught fire in 1996. The Rutherford Farm and property were passed down through the generations until it was sold in 2016. Albert H. Rutherford (pictured above), was a former Vaughan Reeve and Councillor, as well as the namesake of Rutherford Road, having served the community of Vaughan from the 1940's to the 1970's.
