Ightham Mote is a 700 year old medieval moated Manor House set in the Kent Countryside near Sevenoaks......
One of its first owners was Robert Cawne. He was sent to the Tower of London for trying to kill his wife Marjory by throwing her down the well! He was eventually pardoned by the King but little was known about him afterwards....In some of the promotional material he is described as a bit of a character....🤔.
The house has more than 70 rooms, all arranged around a central courtyard. The house is surrounded on all sides by a square moat, crossed by three bridges....
