Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis): Sharing a Tree with Black-Billed Magpies and Starlings

Winter Morning, Denver Metro Area, Colorado

I watched this red-tailed hawk perched in this tree for about two hours. It remained in this same place the entire time. It constantly looked about its territory.

Somehow the hawk didn't seem to be too bothered by the antics of these assorted birds. They took turns populating this tree alongside this hawk.

It was a cold morning after a night of nearly continual snow. For whatever reasons, such conditions often seem to change up these birds' routines.
