Varroa Destructor Mite

This capture was taken on the bottom board of the hive. The yellow stuff is pollen and the white stuff is wax. This mite is the worst enemy of the honey bee and it is the first time I have seen one in my hives. They are there in the hive and on the bees, but they are so tiny it is difficult to see them. Super macro capture is what you are seeing here. If you have bees, you have varroa mites; they are just terrible things in the bee world and if not treated can wipe out a hive.
