The Davis Fire
Fourteen structures have been damaged by the Davis Fire and additional assessment will be done when it is safe to do, the U.S. Forest Service said Sunday night.
The 6,500-acre fire is burning in heavy timber and brush. Gusty winds are expected for the rest of the week. There is zero containment.
The southern end of the western side of the fire grew the most in Sunday’s winds, moving along the Mount Rose Highway. Crews mostly held the other fronts of the fire.
Most highways have reopened, although U.S. 395 is closed in Washoe Valley.
About 12,000 to 14,000 people are under evacuation orders in south Reno. The number of customers without power in Washoe County on Sunday night was 4,453. At its peak, about 17,000 customers were without power.
