Jim, Zac, Ethan and Josh had all been troubled during the night by their dreams

The Roman poet Ovid states in his 'Metamorphoses' that Morpheus is a son of Hypnos the god of sleep, and reports that he had a thousand siblings, with Morpheus, Phobetor and Phantasos being merely the most prominent among them.

Phobetor was thought to be the bringer of nightmares, and had the ability to appear as animals or monsters; Phantasos was believed to bring surreal and strange dreams, and was able to appear as inanimate objects, such as stones or wood.

In contrast to his two siblings, Morpheus brought messages and prophesies from the gods to mortals through the medium of dreams.

In Classical art, Morpheus is shown with a horn and ivory box full of dreams, some black and some white.
