Rheinfall
View from above the scenery onto Europe´s biggest waterfall(though I may doubt this - think of Norway or Iceland! - so lets call it the biggest in central Europe!
A double deck semi fast crosses the wonderful bridge above the falls on it´s way to Winterthur on 22nd August 2018.
These new EMUs are quite comfortable, good seating, smooth running as I could explore on a trip to Zuerich.
The bridge is an interesting construction, it´s 12 arches not being identical to each other due to the rocky condition of the subsoil in the river.
The bridge is situated here in a way that only on the longest days of the year the sun reaches the side to be seen here, which means we came too late for this on 22nd August 2018...
Visitors can walk around the whole scenery, beginning down at the shores and walking clockwise around the falls, crossing the railway bridge on a footwalk and continuing the way along the shore opposite with some viewpoints around and from Lauffen castle, then crossing the river again on a road bridge about one km down the river.
Recommended, best during times without too much tourism...
the rock in the middle can also be reached by the boats to be seen in the image, starting from the shore down here.
