Chiesa degli Olandesi
Il Tempio della Congregazione Olandese Alemanna, conosciuto anche come Chiesa degli Olandesi, è un luogo di culto protestante, testimonianza del clima interculturale dell'antica città labronica. E' un raro esempio di architettura neogotica a Livorno. La facciata presenta tre rosoni e quello centrale, che si trova sopra l'entrata principale, è decorato con motivi floreali. L'interno è una vasta aula a pianta rettangolare, preceduta da una tribuna situata sopra il vestibolo d'ingresso e chiusa attraverso una grande abside circolare. All'interno della chiesa si può ammirare una commistione di elementi della tradizione gotica e altri di natura classica: infatti lungo la navata vi è l'alternarsi di lesene di matrice classica, sulle quali si aprono archi a sesto acuto che inquadrano finestre ogivali con vetrate colorate. Le pratiche per la costruzione furono avviate dopo l'Unità di Italia e fu scelto come architetto Dario Giacomelli. I lavori iniziarono nel 1862 e terminarono nel 1864.
The Temple of the Dutch Alemanna Congregation, also known as the Church of the Dutch, is a Protestant place of worship, testimony to the intercultural climate of the ancient city of Labron. It is a rare example of neo-Gothic architecture in Livorno. The facade has three rose windows and the central one, which is located above the main entrance, is decorated with floral motifs. The interior is a large rectangular hall, preceded by a tribune located above the entrance vestibule and closed through a large circular apse. Inside the church you can admire a mixture of elements of the Gothic tradition and others of a classical nature: in fact along the nave there is the alternation of pilasters of classical origin, on which pointed arches open that frame ogival windows with stained glass windows colored. The practices for the construction were started after the unification of Italy and Dario Giacomelli was chosen as architect. The works began in 1862 and ended in 1864.
