Sharpless Sh-2-27 Dust only
North of the constellation of Scorpius an immense but faint emission nebula called Sharpless 2-27 is located. This red HII structure has an apparent width of 10 degrees, which corresponds to over twenty full moon diameters! Invisible to the human eye, it can only be revealed in deeply exposed astro photographs.
This is an RGB only photograph showing the vast amounts of dust in this area.
