I am the king

Suddenly, our helmsman shouted loudly : "Snake! Snake! Snake! A big snake!". He turned off the engine and, cooperated with a forest ranger accompanied us, grabbing the river vegetation to stop the wooden boat carrying us. We stopped about two meters in front of that beast. The snake didn't move. It looked like the animal didn't care at all with our presence. The four of us was trying to move the boat away from this dangerous snake by pulling the dense vegetation around us. We waited the snake to move away. I used this moment to photograph this creature. But the snake didn't move from where it was, so I splashed water toward it. The King Cobra responded by standing on its body, showing off the defensive pose. I took this opportunity to shoot it with my camera (this picture), while my partner on this expedition, Irwan Maulana, continuously observing the snake to warn me if the snake made a dangerous move. The bright blurry object on the bottom-right of this picture was our boat. In two or three minutes, the Kong Cobra gave-up and retreated. With adrenalin still rushed in our blood, we continued our journey.
