E. Percy Hallam who taught Music at the School for thirty-seven years. He composed a setting of "The Lord's Prayer" which he dedicated to the School and was sung every day at morning Assembly. He was organist and Choir Master at St Edmundsbury Cathedral until his death on 12th October 1957.
Being a member of the choir myself during the mid 1950s I had the highest regard for him and remember his fascination with intriguing ideas, and visualisation of the future architectural development of the Cathedral. A brilliant organist and a true gentleman.
