Target #3 - Ilum

Mission report - Private Ivan Velus - Ilum assignment

 

'Command had stationed us on Ilum, guarding a small landing platform. Just the three of us and the commander. Stationed on this freezing hellhole. I keep telling myself this is for the good of the Empire. Yes. It is for the benefit of the Galaxy that we're here. God knows why we're here though. The true purpose of imperial occupation is still a mystery to me, and the commander is dismissive of any questions.

 

Some detachments were given snow suit prototypes. We were given heat packs that did little to keep the cold out. Dex, one of the clones, kept droning on about how, back in his day, no soldier went cold. I pointed out that, in his day, soldiers fought alongside traitors and manipulators. That shut him up.

 

There'd been rumours of rebel activity near some bases. Jedi too. In fact, we received a message on the holo-table from one of the higher ups that a Jedi had been spotted near our location. I'd thought the Jedi all but extinct, but, evidently, that's not the case.

 

But this cold. Whatever the reason we're here, it had better be for a damn good one.'
