Doctor who Series: Episode 2 - Compatibility issues P4

"Get behind me, both of you, get behind me!" The Doctor yelled as he desperately tried to sonic the door up. This was bad. Very bad. The 'hangar" was a lot smaller than he'd expected. He'd managed to stop the platform before it slid into the wall, but only just. He'd ruptured a fuel line and before he knew it, the place was ablaze.

And, to top it all off, he'd lost the Tardis. His home. His only remnant of his planet, his civilisation, gone, lost on this..this...planet, if it even was a planet. His previous companions had always said his confidence would get him into deep trouble one day, and that day had come. He had no idea where he was, when he was.

The door closed with a shoom, shielding him and his friends from the fire. He wiped his hands on his jacket. "Well, I'd count that as a win".

Jackie and Frank looked at the Doctor. "A win?" Jackie exclaimed "That was a bloody nightmare"

"We almost died!" Frank chipped in. It was more true for Frank than the Doctor or Jackie. When the platform crashed, he had been propelled away from the wreck. He'd cut his head, and the corridor was starting to spin.

"Look" the Doctor said, holding his hands up "In my book, that was a win. I once crashed a cruiser from space, onto a planet made almost entirely of cacti"

Jackie rolled her eyes. He sounded ridiculous. "We almost died and you're making jokes!"

"It's not a joke" the Doctor replied. "Now" he said, edging between Jackie and Frank "Shall we explore?" He didn't wait for an answer. He strode off down the corridor, Jackie and Frank jogging to keep up.

"You're mad" Frank exclaimed "absolutely bloody mad" His head was spinning. Did he have a concussion? Or was he having another one of his episodes?

While he was pondering the matter, the Doctor had launched into a brief history of human settlements on other planets.

"...So Admiral Kallifax got involved in a trade embargo on Clom and - "

"Doctor!" Jackie exclaimed, cutting him off. She'd seen something. It was a person, lying against the wall.

"This doesn't look good" the Doctor said, jogging forward to examine the man.
