"Fascinating" murmured the Doctor, running a hand along the dead mans face.
Jackie shifted uncomfortably. This was her first time seeing a dead body. Hopefully, it would be her last. She looked around nervously. "What is?" she asked.
The Doctor shuffled over to give her a better look. "These marks on his face" he said, indicating the deep bruises on the mans face "Do they remind you of anything?"
"They look like...bars, of some sort" Frank said. 'Odd' he thought. he could've sworn he'd seen marks like this before, but he couldn't remember where.
"Well done Frank" the Doctor responded. "From how he's lying, and the massive dent in the wall there" he pointed upwards "I'd say this man was struck in the face by someone" he paused "or something, very strong."
He'd seen injuries like these before. He thought of a situation in his head. Guard discovers something he shouldn't. WHAM! hit from the side by someone holding a bar. But if that were the case, where was the blood? There should be some sort of splatter pattern. Unless...He stroked his beard, before -
"Hold it right there!" a voice perforated the air. Two people, a woman and a man jogged down the hallway. The woman wielded a pistol, which was pointed at the Doctor and his friends.
"Who are you!?" the woman barked, brandishing the pistol in the Doctors direction. Frank and Jackie put their hands up. The Doctor did not.
He sighed. "Believe it or not, Most people don't react well when they have a GUN POINTED AT THEIR FRIENDS!" His eyes blazed like a thousand suns. He'd lost his family, his whole race in fact. He damn well wasn't going to lose his new friends.
