Liz - Stranger #16/100

The City of Bath Pétanque (Boules) Club enjoy free sessions to all members in Queens Square, running from 11:00 every Wednesday. This is where I met Liz and her 3 colleagues Elaine, Chris and John, who were kind enough to explain some of the rules and techniques behind this game, which originated (as far as I’m aware) in Provence around 1907. At the end of their game I asked if I could take their portraits as part of my “100 Strangers” challenge and handed Liz brief details of the website. With the harsh midday sun, conditions were not ideal for taking photos but fortunately the many trees in the square provided some shade. In the spirit (rules) of the project, I can only include one of the portraits (Liz) but you can see the other 3 images next to Liz on my Flickr Account. Chatting with Liz, I learned that she was Secretary of the local Photographic Society so plenty to talk about (!) and I’m happy to provide a link.

Thanks to Liz for being part of my project to photograph 100 strangers and thanks to all 4 for being patient with my questions!
