Shane has been living on the streets for about 16 years now. Shane a Simi Valley native has had a home and owned a store front. He lost it all when his sister swept it right under his feet. He currently lives in the hall ways of the shopping center on the corner of Nordoff and Reseda in Northridge. He has five children, two daughters and three sons. He traveled all over the states and finally settled in Northridge after his liver failed him. Currently Shane has a bag attach to his stomach that helps release the digestive food that his body cannot secrete on its own anymore. He seemed very calm and collected. He was very easy to talk too and just seemed very approachable. He explained to me the several of women that came into his life and how he has lived his life. The five children he has are from three different women. He was very open and very comfortable talking about his past. He misses his children but doesn’t really see them. He recently came out of a relationship with his girlfriend Michelle who left him for another man who had a better living situation. He talks about her as if he still greatly misses her, but he understands she is better off. Shane has been to prison multiple times. He was in prison for 10 years at one point for burglary. He feels like he has a good thing going on right now. The restaurants in where he sleeps by, give him food and support him when he needs it. He is covered from head to toe in tattoos that he had acquired in prison. One of his closest friends is Eric who sits beside him in one of the images. Shane has troubled past, but means no harm to the public currently.
