Engineman First Class Petty Officer (DV) James J. Hordinski of Mentor, OH, assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit-TWO, relaxes at his decompression stop 70 feet below the ocean surface following his dive 240 feet below to the wreck site of the USS Monitor. The divers are working from the Derrick Barge WOTAN, the main support vessel for Phase II of the Monitor 2001 expedition, the sixth NOAA-Navy expedition to preserve the historic vessel. The ship went down off the coast of Cape Hatteras, NC, in 1862 during a severe storm.
