Wasp Nest
This picture showcases the beauty of a nest of a paper wasp species (Polistes exclamens) covered in pine straw. Their nests are created by chewing pieces of wood into a paper mache like material and putting it together. The nest serves as a place for the wasp to live and store food and eggs. The newborn wasps eat when they are born and feed directly on paralyzed bugs in the nest. Also these wasp houses can be built almost anywhere! From trees to bushes to buildings and more.
