Basic oxygen furnace

This basic oxygen furnace sits in front of the former McLouth Steel plant in Trenton Mi. It was one of the first BOP furnaces in commercial production in the United States. The nearby sign used to read McLouth Steel, Pioneers in Steel Technology. Today with the mill closed only the street lights shine on this furnace.

Photographed on Kodak Tri-X 400 using a Pentax K1000 and the SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens. Exposed for developing in Diafine: f/1.4, 1/30 s.
