The Golden Dome in DR5
The Golden Dome on the Main Building at the University of Notre Dame.
Note the horizontal halation near bright areas. I do not see this with a loupe on the light table. I am curious to this artefact's origin.
Photographed with a Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 lens on a Nikon F4 using Ilford HP5 400 film exposed at ISO 800 with the lens at f/5.6 and reversal processed by DR5. Image scanned using Vuescan on a Coolscan 5000 ED. 5 samples were taken in multiexposure mode.
Spot metering was used to set the exposure 1 EV over for the pediment on the right hand side of the photograph. This was the best compromise to preserve highlight detail while still giving shadow detail.
