Every Year StackOverflow conducts a survey on developers. This is their 2016’s findings Most worked on Technologies Android rule the preferred technology chart with 61.9 percent of developers opting for it. Android is followed by Java, Objective – C, and Swift with them being on 54.2, 39.2, and 31.7 respectively. Age bracket of Developers 25-29 yrs. age group saw the maximum developers with 28.4 percent. It was followed by 20 – 24 yrs. with 23.6 percent, 30 – 34 yrs. With 18.1 percent and lastly 35 – 39 yrs. made 10.2 percent of world’s developers Average Developer Age – Country Wise Country wise, maximum developers came from USA followed by Italy, Australia, and Spain. Age wise Developer Experience 20 -24 was the most experienced age bracket with 68.4 percent falling under it. It was followed by 25 – 29 age bracket with 65.7 percent, 30 – 34 yrs. With 59 percent, 35 – 39 yrs. With 57.5 percent, and lastly 40 – 49 yrs. with 54.4 percent. What would Motivate the Developers When asked what would motivate them, 70.1% said Learning New Technologies, 64.3% went with the opportunity to build something new, 44.1% wanted control over product decisions, 40.2% wanted to improve an existing application, and 30.4% wanted to widen their horizons by working on a variety of projects.
