65. Landmark trochlea- where's the trochlea
Where's the trochlea? A deep structure, and small structure. Not easily to palpation. However, Hyun Jin Shin and team, in 2015, suggest location with caruncle.
The trochlea is attached to the anteromedial orbital roof.
The tendon of the superior oblique muscle passes through
the inside of the trochlea, which redirects it, thus
becoming the functional origin of the superior oblique
muscle for movement.
We can localize too, inderectly, the two cutaneous nerves from trigeminal nerve (infratrochlear and supratrochlear).
