It's Just Sleeping...

The East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company has been silent since 2011. The railroad awaits a new steward to purchase it and give it it's third life. Chartered in 1856 and built 1872-4, it is the last complete, original narrow gauge railroad east of the Mississippi River. The shop complex at Rockhill, seen here, is the most complete 19th century industrial site in the United States, and the same tools that built and maintained the railroad continue to do so today.
