Down the Slide
While most eastern railfans think of 'The Slide' as the section of track exiting the New Portage Tunnel at Gallitzin, PA. That grade, while steep, doesn't hold a candle to the 2-foot gauge BWNRR's HILL, which descends at a whopping 9 percent. All handbrakes are set before going past the switch to the Camp Branch, which is guarded by a restored and functional PRR Position Light signal.
