My everlasting love -the sea

Skallingen ...all by myself. So many years since I've been here. The light was dim, it was freezing cold and windy. At sunset, when the sun moved belove the heavy sky, it lit the lower part with a gorgeous pale rosa light. The view was captivating ...almost mesmerizing and very peaceful ...so opposite the harsh weather and rough surroundings. I wish, I could have captured it far better ...or even better ... you could have been here with me. I've never tried drugs, but I can't imagine any, that can take me higher nor make me calmer than nature and especially the sea.

Skallingen is an amazing landscape. It was Denmark's last minefield. Created in connection with the establishment of the Atlantic Empire, a fortress facility made by the German occupation during World War II. The mine field consisted of approx. 72,000 mines. In 1947, 61,000 of the mines were found. In 2006 the mine clearance started again and in 2012 the minefield was declared cleared. There's now free access to this beautiful and wild nature.
