Communication
Walking around alone at the crack of dawn oftentimes makes me think about the value of communication.
If we have collective problems (which we do), the only way to find solutions is through engagement and dialogue. A cooperative dialogue involves sitting down, looking back at the events of the past together, and finding some shreds of common ground in the process.
Existing in the world, I come face to face with so many turmoils every single day. As an educationalist, my goal is to not necessarily answer these questions with a definite response and assume that there is some kind of one-size fits all solution. It is my job however to appreciate that the same problem can manifest differently from one human being to the next. To help encourage harmonious relationships between individuals and communities is to provide the gift of communication in a way that everybody has the right to become a problem-solver rather than merely a part of the problem.
