PV-28 B "Swallow" patrol craft

The PV-28 is a antigrav patrol craft, here in operation for the Northern Coalition Border Guard. The design with its two moving thruster nacelles provides unrivalled manoeuvreability.

The Swallows were commissioned shortly after the declaration of the strict "stand your ground" immigration policy by NC prime chairman Ronald W. Prunt. Even though officially unarmed, the extensive use of the PV-28's stun pulsers and its E16 EMP-cannon led to a number of casualties. Reports speak of heart failures and several lethal accidents of immigrant's transports and dissident speeders.

The squatty craft, on duty in several countries of the NC as Border Guard and Police variant, is somewhat inappropriately named Swallow by its manufacturer Trueglass-Huaxing - presumably with its top-view layout in mind. In street speech, it's usually referred to as knuckle sandwich.

The manoeuvrability of the PV-28 is also its weakness. The gimbaled engine pods induce considerable structural stress, leading to material fatigue and high maintenance cost. Thus, the NC-Congress is in a budget debate to replace the relatively new craft with a more efficient design.

An improvisation I started with the fender parts of the Speed Kings McLaren 720S. Consists mainly of parts from the sets 75880, 31071, 60178, 75195 and a few other pieces.
